# Automations

Ask Merlin to do something later, or on a schedule, and it sets up an automation. They're listed under **Automations** on Home, where you can delete them. To change, pause or restart one, ask Merlin.

## Reminders

A message at a set time: "remind Sam about the dentist at 9 tomorrow" or "in two hours, tell me to call Mum".

## Scheduled tasks

A task that repeats: "every Monday morning, tell the group what's on this week" or "on the 1st of every month, remind everyone to pay rent". Tasks can run as often as every 15 minutes.

## Alerts

Merlin checks something on a schedule and messages you only when it changes:

- "Tell me if this listing drops under $900."
- "Let me know when tickets for this show go on sale."
- "Tell the group when a new version comes out."

## App alerts

Merlin can also act as soon as something happens in an app you linked:

- Gmail: an email from someone, or about something
- Calendar: a change to your events
- GitHub: a new issue, pull request or release
- Last.fm: you play a certain artist

For example: "tell me when the accountant replies about the tax return."

## Who can change an automation

If the owner or a trusted person set up an automation, only one of them can change or remove it. Times are in your timezone, which you can change in Settings.
