# Files, the web and pictures

## Sending files

Send Merlin a photo, document, spreadsheet or voice note and say what you need. In your direct messages, it can also find files sent in any of your chats.

On Home, you can attach up to five files per message, 10 MB in total.

## Getting files back

Merlin can make files and send them to you: a spreadsheet of your bills, a document, a running list. Each chat keeps its files, so you can ask for changes later.

It can also do calculations and convert files from one format to another.

## The web

Merlin searches the web and reads the pages it finds. For sites that need clicking, forms or a login, it uses its [browser](https://atmerlin.com/docs/apps/browser).

## Pictures

Merlin can make a picture from a description, or edit one you send.

## What Merlin can't do

- Make or join calls, or send voice notes
- Make videos or music
- Type passwords, card numbers or verification codes
- Message you unprompted, unless you set up an [automation](https://atmerlin.com/docs/automations)
